ELA B30: Mar 22 Elie Wiesel and Oprah video…

  1. With many students missing for the ski trip, the students present watched an Oprah special where she and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel returned to Poland to the site of the concentration camps. Mr. Wiesel is the author of the novel the students are currently reading. It was a pretty moving video to watch and, as Dallas put it so elloquently, makes what they are reading so much more realistic.

Soc 8: Mar 21 Playing catch up and poetry writing…

  1. Students missing more than four assignments out of the seven had to make phone calls home to tell their parents they were missing so many and make it clear they needed help getting their work done tonight. Anything not handed in by tomorrow will marked zero.
  2. Students with work completed already used this time to construct a list of 40 phrases or words to describe themselves. This seemed to prove difficult for many. This list of words is due to be completed for everyone by next Monday, our next class.

MdSt 20: Mar 21 Playing catch up…

  1. Students branched off into all sorts of directions.
    1. Some students were frantically trying to finish their commercial shoots.
    2. Some students were piecing together missing assignments to hand in for the deadline.
    3. Other students, who have done well to keep up with assignments, used their time to create some media log entries for their journals.
  2. It was a pretty productive day for everyone. (Would be nice if they could be so productive on every other day!)
