ELA 10: Mar 14 Intensive essay review class…

  1. Before students spend more time completing the in-class essays they worked on a while ago, we are going to review expository essays in detail. Whatever they may know about essays to this point will be reinforced or corrected with our review. We began with the brainstorming, choice of topics, arranging into order of strong, stronger and strongest, the creation of phrases that quickly and smoothly become a thesis statement and the inclusion of a transition sentence to create engaging writing for a reader.
  2. The students will be writing a test of the unit to date on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. The content of today’s review will be included on that test.
