Soc 3/4: Jan 24 Aboriginal legend storytelling…
- We reviewed the eight topics discussed yesterday after viewing the Plains Cree video. Students filled in answers on a handout to add to their notebooks.
- We read a brief introduction to Storytelling (click here the-plains-cree-storytelling.doc ) and why the Aboriginal people used them to educate their children. We gathered together and got cozy today (in our pajamas no less!) and they listened carefully while I read aloud some Native Legend stories. After each, they shared with their classmates what lessons each story may have been intended to share with young children. They did a good job of picking out the lessons!
