MdSt 20: Mar 28 Violence in media video clips and journal responses…

  1. We began today in the other classroom and watched several short clips focused on violence in media. Students had to write the title of the clip down, watch it and make any notes during their viewing, but then write a reflection of what they thought after watching the clip. We were able to watch five or so during the class and some of them the students found very interesting. They commented that they enjoyed this activity, which is cool because so did I!The following are some of the clips we watched….

Now, there are those who argue against reports that video games are the REASON for violence, which is not what we are saying in class.  (We are only discussing the possible influences of the violence in media.) Here are a few personal videos of people who are discussing the same issue and arguing against this idea that video games cause things like the Columbine Shootings.
