- Reminder to students that their paragraph response to
last Friday’s assignment is due today. - Media Log Books are due to hand in tomorrow with nine entries total now.
- The Commercial assignments are due to hand in this coming Friday. Email them or submit them on cd and do not forget to hand in your drawing of the six frames.
- We discussed lately the new influence on men and their body awareness. Today, we will proceed with a dicussion of media that promote certain themes or achetypes of men, such as the rugged fighter, the romantic etc. We read through the handout, answered and discussed questions, and analyzed several examples of ads to fit these six types of archetypes for males in media.
- Attached you will find an interesting blog entry on a student’s website from Alberta. See if you agree with her thoughts. There is also a video to view.

I think male stereotyping is gross i mean some guys take it way to far. If you want to be muscular go for it but thats your choice nobody cares so dont take off your clothes and brag it up. Male stereotyping is wrong not as many guys as most people think work out on a regular basis. I dont follow male stereotyping it is a waist of time. (i didnt watch the videos cuz i seen naked bums MALE bums and id shut it off right there). From what i did see though those guys were wipped by that chick.
Those videos was really stupid i think it was Ridiculous, how those men just stood their and did what the woman told them to do like do they have any self respect for themselfs, holly Man o man and that woman who is telling them what do to is a stupid Tard… she has no Authority to do that, just the men are just alloweing her to do that and they shouldent… you dont have to be tough and goodlooking to be a man, you good be skinny and ugly and still be a man even though no ones ugly ever one is beautiful in some way or another, ohhh yeahhh…. like I dont think that this Will never change . b.c watching the movie ” the talk show thingy” on you tube ever man they asked what a “real man ” is the said you have to be tough, athletic, manly, phyical, and in control, like common a man can be a man, and just dont be scared to be called stuff like wuss wimp fag Pu**y.. and if you can take things like that you are a real man………………
