Jan 28: ELA B30 Day one – The Interpreter…
- Today was the first day of the semester but with such frigid weather many students (and staff – myself included) did not make it to school. For those who were there they began the unit by watching a movie called The Interpreter starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. The story follows the events surrounding a former South African resident who suffered personal loss as a result of the oppression in her home country. As the movie continues, viewers are led to question the main character’s identity – with who does her loyalty lie and how involved in wrong-doings is she. The unit we are beginning is The Human Condition: A Sense of Self.
