ELA 10: Jan 14 “Elephant” questions to hand in, review, PSA activity intro…
- Students handed in their questions for the “Elephant” poem that was due today. We read the poem and discussed it further. We also looked once again at the poem “Big Yellow Taxi” and compared these two with the first, “If a Tree Falls”. We found that the themes, purposes, and genres were all similar, if not the same, and that all but one have the same tone. This might be a good example of an exam question: hint hint!
- Next, students watched a few PSA examples. A PSA is a public service announcement and is different from a commercial. We noted on the board the differences and all the aspects of a PSA that they have to consider when… they create their own.
- Students got into groups and have to plan out and record their own PSA in relation to a topic they have studied this term. They were well on their way with their planning and should come to school tomorrow ready to begin recording.
