ELA B10 How many posts should you have?
Some of you might find it useful to check this page to see how many posts you are asked to have completed. Rather than fall behind and have to catch up in a rush down the road, you can double check this list here and make sure you keep up as we go.
Blog topics:
- 1. Reflect on your thoughts / experience related to racial tension. (Can mention a piece of literature we have read and discussed and explain how it fit into the unit.)
- 2. Your personal thoughts regarding the topic you chose for your ‘factual report’ assignment. Explain what the controversial issue is and what rights you feel people are owed related to it along with what responsibilities yourself and others owe the topic in return.
(Basically, explain what the issue it, what rights the people involved should get, and what responsibility others should take to help correct the issue.) - 3. You wrote a narrative story about an issue where someone experienced a significant event related to inequality or discrimination. Double check your spelling and make any quick changes you would like to your story and post it on your blog. Explain in a sentence or two that it was an assignment and why you chose your topic.
- 4. Justice and fairness in the novel Of Mice and Men – Explain your personal reaction after having finished reading the novel. Also reflect on whether you think the ending was necessary, effective, or alarming. What did you learn about the struggle between weak individuals and strong ones?
- 5. Equality summary – Why do you believe people so easily judge others and explain in detail what you think the real consequences are of that. (Be serious, not flippant.)
